A lot has happened in the last 13.8 billion years 
Over the past 20,000, humanity has gone from small groups of nomadic hunter-gatherers to increasingly larger groups dependent on the domestication of plants and animals. In the last 500, humanity has experienced hundreds of different political-social organizations, suffered a demographic explosion and revolutionized (sometimes) the understanding of our place in the universe. In the last 70 years, the hardware industry has managed to multiply our computing capacity by 10, 8 times in a row, which represents an increase of 10 billion times.
The industrial revolutions we have experienced in less than two centuries were centered on increasing our energy production capacity. Such transformations, based on the consumption of coal and later oil, led to important social and technological disruptions. These energy-intensive technologies have enabled an accelerated leap forward in human society, but we are living at the end of this cycle. It seems that the next energy milestone will be reached with the development of nuclear fusion. Until this happens, we will experience a great effort to minimize the approaching climate crisis, seeking to carry out an energy transition to renewable energy sources.
In this scenario, Aprix positions itself as an agent in what is known as the fourth industrial revolution, characterized by the development of the following fronts:
→ Artificial Intelligence
→ Bioengineering
→ Internet of Things
→ Sustainable energies
More specifically, we want to accelerate the ethical development of artificial intelligence solutions.
However, we see the four fronts as facets of the same phenomenon: the efficiency revolution. After decades of very accelerated growth, we wonder if the way we do things cannot be optimized, that is, if we could do more with less. Dissatisfied with the status quo and always seeking exceptional results, we at Aprix know that yes, it is possible!
We are living in a period of intense and much-needed reorganization of all human processes. In less than a decade, startups have revolutionized urban transport, property sharing, the purchase and sale of various goods, communication, investments, health and education. However, half of the food produced on Earth goes abroad, millions of people go hungry, companies fail in droves and people fall into debt for life. On the one hand, massive unemployment, on the other, companies cannot find labor. The world is still a blue ocean of processes begging to be optimized.
We want to do more with less. More than that; We want to do more good with less. For this purpose, in the Aprix manifesto we explain the means and ends in which we believe. We understand that our dogmas and methods will evolve with the advancement of science, which is why the Aprix manifesto will have many blank pages at the end, unlike sacred texts and other manifestos written throughout the history of humanity.

Through the Aprix manifesto, we believe that everyone should have the right to benefit from technological advances. Therefore, we must strive to make technology a means of improving quality of life. We are aware that society has biases capable of discriminating against people based on issues such as race, gender, nationality, sexuality, for example. At Aprix, we recognize and respect the value of human differences and work to sustain an environment characterized by respect and dignity where all people can be who they are. We understand that plurality is essential for us to continue innovating and generating a positive impact.
With the objective of increasing quality of life, we believe that human production processes have a lot to gain in efficiency with new technologies. Areas such as industry, transport, health, education, etc. can deliver much more results with the same resources invested. Mathematical modeling, data science and AI leverage our decisions to do “more good” with fewer resources.
And how do we believe we can get there?
Social organizations are dependent on technological advancement and the current moral system, none are timeless. Not socialism, not capitalism, not monarchical regimes, not even democracy. With new technologies, the rules of the game change and society calls for efficiency. However, we believe that democracy appears to be the best system created so far and has many decades to go before we can consider it obsolete.
It is very easy to criticize democratic regimes, because thanks to the media and freedom of expression, their successes and failures are open to everyone who wants to see. We value transparency, because thanks to it we can have visibility into the problems that occur, correcting the course as many times as necessary. This is what allows democratic systems to avoid the accumulation of prolonged power in the hands of interest groups.
The very powerful systems that will be created in the next century must serve everyone. And what better way to ensure this than with democracy in governments and transparency in all institutions?
Scientific methodology is perhaps the most important invention in all of human history. We believe that truth should be sought based on theories that can be disproved with replicable experiments. We reject simplistic answers and conspiracy theories. We defend and trust in science and in the countless knowledge-producing institutions (such as universities, companies and research centers) spread around the world.
We believe that every project must take its ecological implications into account, after all, nature is an endless source of efficiency and we have a lot to learn from it. That’s why we must preserve it. We are just beginning to understand the methods of biology and how life carries out such complex processes with so little energy. An example of this are the chemical reactions that we carry out with great inefficiency in our industries because we do not yet have the ability to design catalysts with the mastery of terrestrial nature.
We want to be an important part in building the next version of the world, not mere cogs that support the old one. Regardless of your role or your organization, it is good that this is part of a very important plan! We believe that our valuable time should be invested in purpose and impact, based on exceptional results, and not on maintaining the order of things. We accept taking risks and take responsibility for our mistakes and successes, it couldn’t be any different. We believe that transformation is achieved through collaboration and joint growth of all people involved, based on a strong culture of feedback.O protagonismo pode e deve acontecer em todos os lugares.
